Travelling Safely Overseas
This course gives an overview of the principle health risks when travelling overseas, and how they can be prevented and responded to if necessary. The course covers communicable disease, sexual health and well being. It will give you a clear idea of what lies ahead, how you should prepare for your travel, and what you can do while you are away to keep yourself healthy, and to recover if you have problems. It includes a look at travel and health insurance, local service providers, and the varying role of first aid in situations where there are little or no ambulance or emergency services.
The course is delivered by Sue Campbell, who has lived and worked in East, Central and West Africa for much of the last 20 years.
